Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in Hotel Amerika.

We welcome submissions in all genres of creative writing, generously defined. We do not publish book reviews as such, although we will consider review-like essays that transcend the specific objects of consideration.

Special TransGenre issue:
In spring 2009, Hotel Amerika will publish a special TransGenre issue which will focus on work that explodes traditional boundaries of generic convention.  Please clearly mark the envelope “TransGenre” to be considered for this issue.  Our reading period begins September 1, 2008.

Make sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope for our response.

We do not read electronic submissions, nor do we accept multiple simultaneous submissions, as we will respond to you in relatively good time.

Manuscripts will be considered between September 1 and May 1. Materials received after May 1 and before September 1 will be returned unread.
